Dead Heat Calculator
Tied winners and shared paying places
How it works
With n participants tied for k remaining paying places, k/n of the stake wins at the original odds. The remaining stake loses. Divide the stake before applying decimal odds; dividing only the profit overstates the return. For an each-way bet, calculate the win and place parts separately with their corresponding prices.
100 at 5.00 with three tied participants sharing two places returns 333.33, for a net profit of 233.33.
Uses the standard stake-reduction dead-heat rule. Available places means places left within the tied group, not all advertised places. Check the operator's rule for exceptions and promotions.
