Handicap
A virtual head start or deficit applied to one side to level a market.
A handicap adds or subtracts goals, points or games from a result before it settles, shortening a lopsided market into something closer to even money. A −1.5 handicap means the favourite must win by two. See Asian handicap for the split-line variant and the handicap calculator.
