How it works

Paroli is the anti-martingale: instead of chasing losses you press your wins. Start at the base unit and let the whole return ride onto the next bet. After a set number of consecutive wins you bank the lot and drop back to the base.

Because you only ever stake the base from your own pocket — the rest is the bookmaker's money — a losing bet costs just the base unit, while a completed streak pays out the compounded return. It cannot beat a negative edge, but it caps downside and chases the occasional big upswing.

profit = base · (oddsⁿ − 1)

Paroli System Calculator

The Paroli system is the anti-martingale: instead of chasing losses you press your wins, letting each winning return ride onto the next bet until you hit a target streak and bank it. This free calculator shows the winning-streak ladder, the profit after a completed run, and the peak stake your wins build up to.

How the Paroli system works

Begin with the base unit. After a win, stake the entire return on the next bet; after a set number of consecutive wins — commonly three — you collect the lot and drop back to the base. A loss at any point also drops you back to the base.

On even-money bets a three-win streak turns one unit into eight (2 × 2 × 2), for a seven-unit profit. The calculator generalises this to any decimal odds and any target streak length.

Why it caps your downside

The key difference from Martingale is what is at risk. You only ever stake your base unit from your own pocket — every bet after the first rides on the bookmaker's money. So a losing bet costs just the base, while the rare completed streak pays out the compounded return.

That makes Paroli low-volatility on the downside and lottery-like on the upside. It still cannot beat a negative edge: most cycles end with a small loss, paid for by the occasional big streak. But it never risks the runaway losses that sink negative progressions.

FAQ
What is the Paroli system?expand_more

A positive (anti-martingale) progression: you double up after wins instead of losses, pressing a winning streak for a set number of bets, then bank the profit and reset to the base stake.

Is Paroli better than Martingale?expand_more

It is far less risky because you only ever stake the base unit of your own money — winnings fund the rest. The trade-off is that profits come in rare bursts rather than steadily, and the edge of the game is unchanged.

How much profit does a Paroli streak make?expand_more

On a completed streak of n wins at decimal odds o, profit is base × (oⁿ − 1). Three even-money wins (o = 2) turn 1 unit into 8, a profit of 7 units.
